The Casa Alpina Rossland Hotel is located approx.
600 km (7 hours) east of Vancouver, 600 km west
of Calgary, and 200 km (2 hours) north of Spokane.
Casa Alpina Rossland Hotel is located at the intersection
of Hwy 22 and 3B.
If you are coming to the Casa Alpina in Rossland
from the South, we are located 11 km north of the
US border.
If you are coming to Casa Alpina from the East,
drive through Rossland and at the intersection of
22/3B turn right. Casa Alpina Rossland Hotel is
located behind the gas station.
If you are coming from the West, we are located
on the left side on Hwy 3B, 3 kilometres past Red

Lodge Rebrands with European Touch
Two Rosslanders have renamed their
existing business to recognize their
European roots. What was once the
“Thriftlodge” is now called “Casa Alpina”,
Italian for “alpine house”.
Owners Günther Heyer and Markus Nellen
are both from Switzerland, but Heyer
grew up in an area heavily populated
with Italians.
The owners decided to leave the
corporate chain, and run their business
alone, which started this month.
“Living in a smaller area gives you the
chance to get to know your clientele and
what they like,” said Nellen Thursday.
“There’s an advantage of not having some
corporate people tell you how to run
your business.”
The partners will “personalize their
customers’ experience, and add a strong
individual European touch”.
The team has made a few changes to the
place.
“The décor is really classy,” said Karin
Schilling, a spokes woman for the lodge.
“It gives the feeling of being home away
from home.”
Each room now has a refrigerator and
coffee maker, adding convenience for the
guests. Plus, late night arrivals can do
self check-ins.
